Why the lists are the same for every teacher in a grade
Most supply-list frustration isn't about the supplies. It's that one teacher asks for a specific brand of marker from one store and the teacher next door asks for something slightly different from another. Parents with two kids end up making two trips.
Setting the list at the grade level fixes that. Teachers still get what they need, families buy once, and everyone's working from the same page.

Whose list am I looking at?
A grade page can show more than one list, and each is clearly labeled so you know what you're seeing:
Standard list — a sensible default for that grade, shown when no one at the school has published a specific one yet. A good baseline most classrooms use.
Official list — published by a school administrator, so it's the authoritative version for that grade.
Teacher lists — published by an individual teacher, labeled with their name and room number. If your child's teacher is listed, use theirs.

It depends on the page. If a list is labeled "Official list," a school administrator published it. If it shows a teacher's name, that teacher published it themselves. Otherwise you're seeing our standard list for that grade — a sensible baseline most classrooms use. Always check anything your school sends home directly.

Our directory comes from federal education data, which can lag behind new schools, closures, and name changes. Private schools may not appear at all. Send us the school name, city, and state and we'll add it.

No. When you create a list it starts pre-filled with the standard items for your grade. Edit what you need, delete what you don't, and add your classroom extras.
Yes, at any time. Open the list and click Unpublish. It disappears from the public page immediately, and parents see the standard list again until you republish.
Create a new list for the new grade and school year. Old lists stay in your dashboard so you can copy from them or delete them.

Your lists come down from public pages immediately. Your account is then held for 30 days in case you change your mind, and permanently removed after that.
